One Room at a Time

BEFORE

My version of Love it or List it

This homeowner was at a crossroads about his lovely colonial home near Lake Johnson in Raleigh.  His final mortgage payments were around the corner, but the questions to stay or go lingered.   The whole house needed an interior paint color makeover, a more functional and updated kitchen, and a new space where he could put his feet up at the end of a long day while also having a dedicated work area for his successful metal roofing company.   Should he invest in the home for him or for the real estate market?

Planning

Renovation - Kitchen

The kitchen already had a great stove and frig, but overall it felt washed up and lacking warmth.  We needed new countertops, a longer kitchen island, better paint colors, backsplash tile, a new sink and faucet and lighting.  The homeowner’s appreciation of nature, gourmet cooking and love of fresh, earthly aesthetic were the inspirations.

What a difference!

The Result - LOVE IT!

With a larger island, new fixtures, backsplash and cabinet colors, this kitchen looks brand new!  With the kitchen updates and all the changes below, the homeowner decided to LOVE his house and stay for many years to come.

A place to work and relax

The Den

We took a room that was rarely used and made it into what is now his favorite, functional and cozy office space with reclaimed wood shelving, dark walls and lots of texture with leather seating and a soft, hand-hooked wool.
