Teen Fan of Marie Kondo gets room makeover
Chalky Blue walls and butterscotch trim and outdated, pre-teen bedroom furniture – Not
exactly the vibe Jessy is feeling these days. Her small room with heavy, big furniture felt crowded and awkward.
Jessy is preparing to enter a new stage in her life: high school and she needs a room that reflects her teen spirit!

The Design
The most important aspect of Jessy’s room that needed updating was her furniture and their arrangement. Her daybed was not functional anymore. She needs a regular bed with a linen headboard – a more comfy spot to lay back and read her books.
Speaking of books, a sophisticated Marie Kondo bookcase that had space for all her books, but doesn’t look cluttered….
The Result
Now Jessy’s books are not longer an eye-sore but completely inspirational! The block cubed bookcases from Wayfair give a sense of organization that the space needed. Also, the furniture arrangement with the new bed allows her to walk around her room.
The new sheer curtains softens the space and allows the the sun to shine through- allowing the pale white-lavender to infuse the room. The paint color, Angelica from Benjamin Moore, complements the classic diamond motif rug from Anthropologie. A room for Jessy to hang out in that reflects her teen Marie Kondo like sensibilities!
